Vol. 35, No. 3, Fall 2000
Prospects for the global economy as a whole continue to improve. The slowdown in 1998 was less severe than previous troughs and the subsequent recovery has been more rapid. This issue provides an overview of key markets, including Asian economies and Europe. Economic growth in the United States has been enviable. However, strong consumer demand and other factors have signaled the need to slow the economy down to long-term sustainable growth rates. This issue provides the outlook for each of the four Atlantic provinces in 2001, including growth in GDP and key economic drivers.
