ATLΛNTIC Economic Update

The Atlantic economy continues to recover from the economic effects of the pandemic. The regional economy shrank by 4% last year, noticeably less than Canada’s 5.3% decline, helped by lower numbers of cases of COVID-19.

All four provinces have had setbacks in containing COVID-19 but we are seeing progress as vaccinations roll out. Reopening plans will provide a further boost to economic activity during the summer, particularly as provinces re-open borders and ease travel restrictions.
