Atlantic Canada Economic Outlook 2020: Continued Growth Despite Trade Uncertainty

The Atlantic provinces will maintain positive economic growth across the region next year, lead again by Prince Edward Island, according to APEC’s latest Atlantic Report. Prince Edward Island will outpace the rest of the region continuing a recent run of population driven strong economic growth.

The provincial fiscal outlook is positive with the Maritimes maintaining fiscal balance. While Newfoundland and Labrador predicts a sizable surplus this year, it is due to one-time revenues from the Atlantic Accord agreement.
