Household Internet Use in Atlantic Canada

November 1, 2001

November 2001
Household internet use has increased rapidly in the last few years. In 2000, almost 50% of households in Atlantic Canada had a least one member who used the Internet on a regular basis. Yet Internet use varies substantially within the population, being higher in urban areas and among the young, well-educated and higher income households. Moreover, household e-commerce expenditures are very small, but growing rapidly. This Report Card examines provincial trends in Internet use, the growth of e-commerce and concerns over the digital divide
