APEC Report Finds Export Gains in Non-Resource-Based Manufacturing

Atlantic manufacturers have fared differently in global markets over the last decade with large declines in forest products but gains in several industries that are not as reliant on local resources, according to the latest Report Card by the Atlantic Provinces Economic Council (APEC). As a result, industries other than forest and food products now account for 39% of Atlantic Canada’s manufactured exports (excluding refined petroleum), up from 21% in 1992.
