APEC produces an annual project-by-project inventory of the major investment projects proposed for Atlantic Canada. A major project is defined as any capital project valued at $25 million or more ($10 million or more in Prince Edward Island).
The 2019 Inventory identifies 480 major investment projects across Atlantic Canada valued at a record $141 billion. The MPI is a key product produced by APEC and is used to help assess the investment climate in Atlantic Canada. Businesses and other organizations also use the Inventory for business planning, forecasting and project leads. APEC has been conducting the MPI since 1983 and an associated event since 2008.
A searchable version of the MPI and a detailed mapping tool are available for APEC members on the member website at www.apec-econ.ca/members/
