Atlantic Canada’s independent voice on economic issues

March 18 - Assessing the Potential Impacts

David Chaundy's Presentation (PDF)

Measures to delay and reduce the spread of COVID-19 are already having financial and economic consequences regionally, nationally, and internationally which will grow with the duration and severity of this situation. Canada and other countries have started to implement policies to help mitigate these economic impacts.

APEC is responding by dedicating its research resources to provide insights and analysis as the economic impacts of COVID-19 unfold in Atlantic Canada, which will be available at
www.apec-econ/covid

As a first step, APEC hosted a FREE webinar on March 18, 2020 with over 900 registrants and almost 700 attendees. David Chaundy, APEC President & CEO, and Craig Alexander, Deloitte's Partner & Chief Economist provided an initial assessment of the potential economic impacts in Atlantic Canada, nationally, and internationally. Sorry you missed it? You can watch the full webinar (above). A link to David Chaundy's presentation (PDF) is also available.
