[Summer Student Remote Work Opportunity]

Research Assistant: Summer Student Position (remote work opportunity)
Two (2) postions available


Responsibilities

Economic research assistant, including data collection, analysis and report writing.

 

Qualifications

  • Current university student entering graduate economics program or third/fourth year of an undergraduate economics program. Business students with economics background also considered. Must be a full-time student returning to university in the fall.
     
  • For one (1) position, the student must be a permanent resident of Nova Scotia or live in Nova Scotia for at least six months prior to the work term.
     
  • For the second (2) position, the student must meet the following qualifications: 
    • is between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment;
    • is a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act"; and
    • is legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial / territorial legislation and regulations.

*International students are not eligible. Recent immigrants are eligible if they are Canadian Citizens or permanent residents. 

  • Strong Excel background
     
  • Excellent writing skills
     
  • Well-organized
     
  • Experience conducting research and knowledge of the Atlantic Canadian economy is an asset
     
  • This is a remote-working opportunity. Must have access to a reliable personal computer, internet, and the ability to videoconference via Zoom 

 

Duration

35 hours per week for 14 weeks, starting May 17th

 

Wage rate

$15/hour
