Amy MacFarlane is a strategic leader, corporate director, professional accountant, and educator with experience in the manufacturing, financial, retail, aquaculture, and not-for-profit sectors. She holds a BA in Economics and a BBA in Accounting from Acadia University, as well as a Masters of Education from the University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI). Ms. MacFarlane is a graduate of ICD-Rotmans Directors Education Program.
In addition to being an accounting professor in the Faculty of Business at UPEI, Amy is President and Chair of the Board of PEI Bag Co. Ltd., Vice President and Chair of the Audit Committee of Green Diamond Equipment Limited and External Director and Chair of the Audit Committee of Atlantic Aqua Farms Ltd. She also serves on the Board of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Prince Edward Island (CPAPEI). Previously she spent close to a decade in public accounting with KPMG and Ernst Young.
As an educator, Amy won the Hessian Merit Award for Excellence in Teaching at UPEI in 2014. She is also a Governor Generals Medalist and winner of the Frank H. Sobeys Scholar award.
