APEC Releases Economic Update for May

§Recent economic indicators confirm that the global recession is being felt throughout Atlantic Canada's economy. On a number of indicators, such as retail sales, the data so far point to more modest declines in Atlantic Canada than in Canada as a whole. Indeed, Atlantic export revenues in some sectors are up from 2008. However, the region continues to shed jobs, with further employment declines likely during the course of the year.
